Information Technology Intern
Position Summary
The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) is offering a Summer Internship opportunity for motivated and tech-curious students interested in Information Technology. This role provides hands-on experience supporting IT operations within a public utility environment.
Interns will work closely with IT professionals to support daily technical operations, assist staff with technology needs, and contribute to projects that enhance system performance and reliability.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with help desk support and troubleshooting for agency staff
- Provide basic technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Shadow network and systems administrators on IT infrastructure maintenance tasks
- Support installation, configuration, and deployment of software applications
- Assist with setup and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals
- Help document IT processes, systems, and inventory
- Participate in routine system updates and maintenance activities
- Ability to safely lift and transport IT equipment and accessories, typically up to 40 lbs, as part of setup and support tasks

Work Schedule
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Flexible hours and part-time options available)
Duration: Approximately 10–12 weeks (June through August)
