Quality Inspector

Valencia, CA 91355, USA Temporary
Compensation: $25.19 to $37.40 Hourly

Summary: The quality control inspector position conducts in-process and final inspection of various products such as valves, actuators, switches, and pumps. Perform visual and dimensional examination using basic inspection equipment, under direct supervision of Quality Control Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspect products using gauges, scales, and vision at receiving inspection, in process inspection, and prior to shipment
  • Generate first article reports per AS9102
  • Reconcile and review all final inspection documentation for shipments
  • Interact with source inspectors and customers as needed
  • Review customer purchase orders for quality requirement flow downs
  • Verifies conformance of products to specifications
  • Work with cross functional engineering teams to address any non-conformance’s
  • Record inspection results accurately on inspection report and in databases
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on established procedures
  • Performs visual and dimensional measurements of purchased components using microscopes, micrometers, dial calipers, and other precision measurement equipment
  • Establish appropriate inspection setups using the equipment available
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures while ensuring quality work
  • Tolerance measurement techniques, with the ability to interpret engineering specifications

Position Requirements

  • Inspectors must understand, read, and write English
  • CMM experience is required
  • Proficient in the utilization of Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms and documents.
  • Proficient use/interpretation of Component Maintenance Manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience in AS9100 aerospace environment preferred
  • First article experience for AS9102 is preferred
