Behavior Specialist - Entry Level Welcome!

Vista Center for Behavior Analysis provides compassionate behavior therapy to kids and adults on the autism spectrum and with other related disabilities. Through behavior therapy, our clients learn important social, emotional, behavioral, and life skills that help them succeed in their goals.
Vista’s Behavior Therapists are a consistent, kind and patient supportive staff who work in client homes and their communities to provide one-on-one support through games, toys, and other fun activities.
HOURS: Monday-Friday: 3:00PM-8:00PM. Saturdays are optional, but hours are available between 9am-5pm. Vista works primary after-school hours, however, additional hours are available in select regions and during school breaks and holidays. Depending on availability and caseloads, it would be between 15-30 hours/wk.
PAY: $20 - $25/hr based on experience and education, preferably in applied behavior analysis. For entry level ABA candidates, the range is between $20-$21/hr.
LOCATION: Work close to home! Vista services Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley and the Inland Empire (Chino/Ontario) Staff are kept between 15-25 miles with drive time and mileage reimbursement provided in between client-to-client home. Staff must be within 15-20 miles of the service regions.
DUTIES:
- Deliver one-to-one ABA therapy to clients in home through play-based activities.
- Prepare session materials (prep time is the first 15 minutes of session allocated to start Logbook, download goals, have stimuli ready to be used during session)
- Collect data on client behaviors and skill acquisition goals
- Use evidence-based ABA strategies to teach communication, social, self-help, and daily living skills (this includes de-escalation of mild to severe aggressive behaviors.)
- Brief preference assessments to identify reinforcers
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Utilize the last 15 minutes of session for observation notes/reports allocated to closing goals on skills, entering overall session notes and behavior notes, and obtaining a signature to verify the session from parent or legal guardian.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Reliable vehicle and auto insurance to commute to client homes
- Proof of legal residence/work authorization
- Pass a LiveScan background check
- TB Clearance - current
- High school diploma or GED complete
- Punctuality and excellent attendance
- Open to feedback, consistent and with great communication and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
- Must have availability of Monday-Friday: 3pm-8pm
- Willingness to learn, love working with children and making a difference in our communities.
- Patience, empathy and must be comfortable utilizing training and treatment plans in order to safely de-escalate potential behaviors such as tantrums, eloping, kicking, hitting, pinching and biting.
- Must be comfortable performing play-based and physical activities with clients such as sitting, kneeling, bending, squatting, running, lifting, twisting, chasing and turning.
