Hello! My name is Michael LaQuay, and I am 23 years old. I grew up in Santa Clarita, graduating from West Ranch High School in 2019. From there, I attended the University of Oregon and graduated in 2023 with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies. My favorite hobby is going on hikes to see new places and landmarks. Few things make me happier than spending time in nature. I also love listening to music, and even writing my own songs. I also enjoy working on computers to design modifications for PC and Nintendo games, and I am learning basic coding skills on the side. I am currently a First Impression Specialist for Legacy Pasadena, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym in Pasadena, California. I am the primary point of contact for all clients, I schedule appointments for them to meet with instructors, and manage the inventory of our retail section. My favorite part of the job is selling memberships, as it involves personally getting to know clients and building authentic relationships to help them meet their needs. My goal is to find a full time opportunity that allows me to build upon my current skillset, and contribute to a company's success. I would also love an opportunity with a built in chance for upwards mobility. My biggest motivating factor to go to work every day is knowing that every contribution I make can make a real impact to help people improve their lives, whether directly or indirectly. I plan to maintain this mindset wherever I find work in the future. Long term, I'm interested in pursuing a role in the accounting field. I have a lot to learn, but I am eager to get my foot in the door and learn basic accounting skills.
